Tweetbot 5 for Twitter App Reviews

mediocre

needs push notifications!!!!!! this should be standard in all twitter apps. just a bunch of unnecessary stuff tbh. not worth 10$

Simply the best...

...and most polished Twitter app out there

Amazing Twitter Client! Just one more thing.

Tapbots continues to amaze me with the 4th iteration of their Twitter client, Tweetbot. The design is yet again amazing, sticking to their streamline layout. The streaming feature is awesome, as it is great to see the newest tweets from my favorite accounts right when they are published. I have no regrets when upgrading to Tweetbot 4, and would highly recommend it to any user who avidly uses the social network that is Twitter. However, there is one thing that will make this application absolutely perfect. If I would be able to see tweet notifications from the accounts that I turn it on for, that would be absolutely amazing. This doesnt change the way that I feel about Tweetbot 4 at all. Still an absolutely amazing application. Just wonderful. ~ Nathan

Excellent except...

My employer purchased this as I have to manage several twitter accounts daily. A few of those are favstar based. Instead of keeping one universal favstar account on the app, the GEAR icon on the banner should lead to each individual twitter accounts own favstar. Otherwise well done.

Include polls!

Love the app. Advertisements drive me nuts on the normal Twitter app and this eliminates that issue. The only issue is the new Twitter polling system doesnt appear on this app yet. It just shows the persons tweet with no choices to choose from. Include that and the app will be even better!

I cant believe I paid for this.

So how is tweetbot 4 better than the older versions and better than Twitter? The app rarely gets updated...Twitter now has voting polls, unlimited gifs and lots of motion and animation in occasions like birthdays. Tweetbot has nothing and takes time to even view pictures and videos. Its either you update your app to be something better than Twitter or your sure are a total waste of money.

Best iOS Twitter app, but needs a fix

I love Tweetbot. Its an awesome replacement to the Twitter for iOS app. Being able to mute things at a granular-level is worth the price alone. I have avoided many spoilers with that feature. However, recently I noticed that I have not been able to open links from within the app, which is frustrating. Ive found that they are fairly responsive with updates. So hopefully this will be fixed pretty quickly.

Just Ok

I paid this crazy amount of money for this app thinking it would be a comprehensive Twitter experience and you cannot manage your list. Also, no mechanism to bookmark anything. Very disappointed.

Need Urgent Fix

the best client for Twitter triggered IOS but is in need fix some things, please Tapbots accelerates with these fixes.

Tweet load errors & crashing

Errors loading tweets (very slow) and the app crashes when tilted to go into landscape mode.

TWITTER POLLS PLEASE!

UPDATE Mar. 7: -"Done" button in browser-mode is still in top left, would like to have option to move it to top right for right thumb reachability. -Lack of Twitter Polls integration forces me to leave Tweetbot/is my only reason for using actual Twitter app. -In app browser no longer loads web pages upon clicking links, refuses to load even after refreshing page.

Good app, but Im having update issues

Tweetbot is a great Twitter client, but Im having issues with the latest release. Quite often it stops streaming and the count of unread tweets shows several despite being at the top of the timeline. I usually have to force close the app to get it to refresh again. I also dont like that list timelines are not automatically refreshed and if I try to keep a search timeline open, it doesnt always remember my position in the search. I would love to see at least the first issue fixed. 5 stars when that one is no longer an issue.

Best alternative to Twitters app

Best alternative to Twitters app, far better than what Twitter has done with their mobile website.

A Twitter Client with Personality

Extremely smooth and friendly user interface that is sure to please casual and power users alike, highly recommended.

Good App but...

The tweets And videos load so slowwwww

Would buy if they charged $100

If Twitter is important to you then this will be the most important app on your phone. It is immeasurably better than any other Twitter app in basically every way. If Apple designed a Twitter app to come with iOS 9 it would probably be a lot like this, but worse. People who think this app costs too much: I understand where youre coming from; Twitter isnt as important to you as it is to me. Which is fine! There are several good free options. Likewise, I wouldnt buy a $50 drawing app for my iPad. I am not an artist. But Twitter is a big part of my day, every day. They could charge $100 for Tweetbot and I would pay it, and do it again every year.

Please read

First of all, I would thank you for made this app, I wouldnt love Twitter without it. Secondly, please theres some features all customers want to bring it to this amazing app, I have used all versions, and this what users want to bring: 1- votes! 2- nearby tweets! 3- search for photos or media only! 4- control if we want to show up all the replays or make it as it is! 5- send pictures in direct messages! Then you get our 5 stars

Still the best

Ive been using since Tweetbot 2, and its consistently the best Twitter application around. Thats not to say its flawless, but its definitely better than the official app. Id really like the option to customize at least the DM button, like you can with the two buttons on the bottom right, but being able to set them all would be great. It just doesnt make a lot of sense to limit the navigation customization to two of five buttons. As for anyone wondering about upgrading from v3, there are a few reasons to do so. First, if youre a power user and want to manage/check analytics of your "brand." Second, if you want to support the developer. And third, if you cant deal with various bugs that crop up with iOS updates. It seems once Tapbots releases a new version, they stop supporting the old one completely. I can understand not adding new features, but total abandonment is kind of lame.

Send images in DM

This app would be 5star if you could send images in DMs. Have to switch back over to official app to do this, kind of annoying. Would also like the gif keyboard to be integrated at some point, but no star reduction for that.

Return of the best, unusable Watch app

At $4.99 (introductory price) youre essentially getting the iPhone and iPad app, for me that is the sweet point and I purchased the app without hesitation. Im not that certain if Id do the same had it been $9.99. Feature wise, the app retains the polished and clean interface that came with Tweetbot 3, with its signature tweet streaming feature and customizable bottom tabs. There are also some new features, notably the support for Safari view controller, the reason being the links from tweets can now be viewed native in Safari with ad-blocking functionalities if you have one installed, and the pages also load that much faster because of Safaris nitro JavaScript engine. The new 3D Touch features are fantastic additions and the fact that the devs listened to users and implemented swipe to go back from the Safari View Controller is nice to see. My only complaint (and a major one) is that the Watch app being offered is complete rubbish. Firstly, Im only able to see recent activities and not latest tweets; next, tapping on anything often freezes the app up and I cant do anything at all. The initial loading also takes a pretty long time (theres only a small amount of time that someone can wait with their wrists raised). Please fix this. Update: tweets are sometimes not loading after I come back to the app, and had to force quit and restart for it to work again. What gives?
