Tweetbot 5 for Twitter App Reviews

I liked Tweetbot and bought version 2 when it was fairly new then upgraded to 2.4 was released and I looked forward to upgrading when they offered a 50% off sale. The problem is the price of the app has tripled so 50% off is still more than version 3 cost. Version 3 was buggy and those bugs were not getting addressed: at the end of the day, Version 4 adds no real new features and feels more like it should have been a bug fix for version 3. The new “Activity” screen is a minor improvement, and frankly offers nothing that wasn’t readily available anyway. I won’t be buying Tweetbot 5 when it’s released. This feels like a token upgrade and an attempt to milk a loyal customer base of money without offering value.

The search capabilities of this app for searching Twitter are super weak. It appears to search based on everything being EXACT to the search words and sequence instead of scattered words in the tweet. So basically I have to use the official Twitter app to find anything because 90% of the time, this app finds nothing, where the same search in the official Twitter app shows lots of results.

Usually, I dont mind paying for an upgrade. However, I expect more features, better executed features, not less. Media timeline was my favourite feature (which competitors still have) have been stealthily removed in the update from v3 to v4. This angries me a lot.

Having tried all the cures fo this I can find online, I still cant get an iPad, iPhone, and iMac to sync. All have up to date systems.

The media timeline is gone. The browser works 20% of the time. Instead of an improvement, its a step backward and I had to pay for the displeasure. Not happy. Ill move on to a better Twitter client.

This is the best Twitter client hands down! Super smooth UI and much more functionality than the official Twitter app. Keep the great app updates coming!

For 5$, I was expecting to be able to receive push notification from a specific user but no. Very disappointing. Correct this and this app will receive 5 stars

Im getting authorization errors. I Was told by support to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2.1. Why tho? Especially since it was working fine up until a few hours ago.

And now the app is not working. Its stuck at Install and I cant delete the app. Please do something, its draining my battery...

STILL the best Twitter app. Hands down. Worth every penny

There are so many deep features for users to use. Tweet translation, mute filters, easy access & management of lists, customizable buttons, image summaries on profiles, saved searches, easy account switching, activity tracking (although I wish I could press & hold on a day to see its results like the stocks app) I recommend this app to everyone I know. Enjoy

2015-12-16: See update below. The 4.2 update was supposed to be all about syncing. It worked just OK before (filters never synced) but now nothing syncs. The read marker is missing, and the unread count and position don’t sync between iPhone and iPad, or between iOS and OS X. I tried turning syncing off/on, resetting the cache, etc. It doesn’t sync ANYTHING now on multiple accounts. For example, the unread count on my iPhone says 7, the iPad says 2, and the Mac says 36.

Great design, clean interface, no ads, no sponsored tweets make this a must for any twitter user.

I bought the app because I enjoy tweetbot. But its not worth the $5.79. There are a couple features gone. When I look at someones tweets, I cant look at pictures only which I like to do. Can you restore those features? Also, can you change the sound it makes when something is updated? That grating plink sound is getting annoying.

In the upgrade we have lost the ability to see pictures in the profile timeline. You have to click every link individually. Also lost is the ability to view the timeline as only pictures and video. The finger flick to see a conversation has been reversed, and oddly the conversation order has been reversed too. Its very uncomfortable, almost as if a concious effort was made to annoy longtime users. Please at least let us choose left or right and up or down. Lastly the template. Its gone from the darkwhite theme to all white or all black. Again why not let us choose to keep the old theme?

They really need to get rid of this feature!

My devices and Mac dont sync anymore :(

Can no longer swipe back in the apps browser... Please fix.

We need to be able to send pictures in dms. Other wise great app. User for 5 years now
